Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at Hounkan and was made memorable by our hosts especially Kyoko who patiently Google translated and explained all our dishes at breakfast and dinner so we could appreciate and enjoy the local produce. The view from the room of the hills in Yoshino was amazing and I also enjoyed the onsen that has both an indoor and outdoor section. The hotel is along the main walking route in Yoshino so it is easy to set off from there to the walking trails in the area

Negative: The hotel is a bit far from the train station but the hotel offers a shuttle pick up and drop off - just need to arrange timings with them beforehand.

Summary: Lovely memorable stay with wonderful views, calming onsen and warm hosts
